Boost Your Home’s Efficiency and Your Wallet

Energy-Efficient Rebates in Oregon

Are you looking to make your home more energy-efficient and save money on your utility bills? As a homeowner, you know that making energy-efficient upgrades to your property isn’t just good for the planet—it can also save you money.  Oregon offers a variety of rebates and incentives to help homeowners reduce their energy consumption. The Energy Trust of Oregon is a non-profit organization that offers a variety of rebates and incentives for energy-efficient upgrades to homes and businesses. These incentives help offset the cost of upgrades that lower energy usage, like installing insulation, sealing air leaks, or upgrading heating and cooling

A Real-Life Example: A Client’s Attic Insulation Success Story

One of my clients recently took advantage of this Energy Trust of Oregon rebate opportunity. They upgraded their home by installing spray foam insulation, a project that cost around $1,800 (cost based on a 1,000 sq ft attic) and they received an $800 rebate, effectively reducing their out-of-pocket cost.

The results? Not only did they save on the initial expense, but they also noticed a dramatic reduction in their energy bills—both for heating during the winter and cooling during the summer. Their experience showcases how impactful these upgrades can be.

9 out of 10 homes are under-insulated!
Because warmer air naturally rises, your attic is the most important area to properly insulate. However, wall and floor insulation also play a key role in the comfort of your home and in saving energy. Not sure where to start? Learn more about insulation types and their benefits here and here.

Good for the Planet, Wallets, AND Resale.

In Portland, Bend, and Hillsboro, it is mandatory to disclose a home’s energy score when selling a single-family home. This requirement was implemented to promote energy efficiency and inform potential buyers about a home’s energy performance.

The Home Energy Score is a numerical rating from 1 to 10, with 10 being the most energy-efficient. It is determined by a certified professional who assesses factors like insulation, heating and cooling systems, and window efficiency. Having an energy efficient home is going to increase the value and attract more buyers.
